The hair and beauty industry is more luxurious than ever.  As a qualified hairdresser and beautician you have the capability to create your own work life balance, within an industry that is ever changing, pioneered by the latest fashion and trends. The industry is worth over £2 billion pounds a year and is ever growing with treatments constantly being in demand in and out of salons.   Varying from luxurious facials, eyelash enhancements and mesmerising massages.

Our hairdressing students will learn many techniques including colour techniques (foiling and modern balayage with various colour products, colour corrections), cutting (short to long hair covering all styles), various forms of hair extensions (both hot and cold methods), take up styles (including wedding and other occasions), blow drying and styling techniques and perming (short hair and long and tight curls to loose beach waves).

There are various careers that you can explore in the beauty industry from being a home/mobile therapist to being a business owner, the opportunities are endless.

After our recent move into a fabulous, easily accessible salon, Stellar Academy is now based in Mansfield town centre and delivers apprenticeships, traineeships, adult funded and commercial courses to everyone.  The courses are designed to be flexible, with dedicated tutors and assessors to help train, guide and advise you along your hair and beauty training.

Our new salon has modern decor, and plenty of space to host bespoke training sessions, or one to one training. We have a specialist section of the salon for hairdressing for children and infants, giving our learners an all round experience as they progress.

Upstairs the salon boasts a relaxing area for beauty treatments, including manicures, pedicures, waxing, plus a make up area which can host make up and beauty parties, giving our learners exceptional hands on experience.
