Who is it suitable for?
This qualification is for those who wish to develop the knowledge of the causes and symptoms of dementia and will enable learners develop the awareness for providing positive care for people with dementia and their families
What are the entry requirements?
There are no specific recommended prior learning requirements for this qualification.
How is this qualification structured?
The qualification is made up of four mandatory units:
• Unit 1 Understand equality, diversity and inclusion in dementia care
• Unit 2The person centred approach to the care and support of individuals with dementia
• Unit 3 Dementia Awareness
• Unit 4 Understand the factors that can influence communication and interaction with individuals who have dementia
How is it assessed?
This qualification is assessed via an internally assessed and externally verified portfolio of evidence.

This qualification is available fully funded under the Adult Skills Fund stream and is free to the candidate.
